Student Teacher Supervisors/Cooperating Teacher Payment Program
Any Kentucky school teacher who is supervising a student teacher for an accredited college or university, who has a valid Kentucky teaching certificate, and who has 3 years teaching experience and a Rank II (or, if a teacher doesn't have a Rank II but has earned 15 hours of college credit toward that rank within the first five years of teaching) is eligible for compensation from the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
In 2007-2008, Kentucky school teachers were paid $18.40 per week of supervisory work or $147.21 for eight (8) weeks of supervision.
Colleges and universities have until October 15, 2007, to enter the fall semester data for the Cooperating Teacher Payment Program. After that date, please go to www.kyepsb.net and enter your username and password. Click on “Cooperating Teacher Assignment” and complete your voucher. If your voucher is incomplete or inaccurate, please contact Carol Martin or Sandra Stanley at (888) 598-7667 or email them at carol.martin@ky.gov or sandra.stanley@ky.gov .

Tuition Waiver Information:
As per SB77, Section 9, a supervising teacher of a student teacher or a resource teacher for a teacher intern may, with prior approval of the course-offering institution, take a maximum of six (6) credit hours per term at any of the eight state universities and pay no tuition. Each institution has its own requirements and stipulations for the waiver. Go to www.kyepsb.net/internships/tuitionwaver.asp for the waiver program at each of the state's eight public universities.
